COP24 Side-event: MPA4Change presents the 100MPA MedAlliance

MPA4Change project it is pleased to announce its participation at the 24th Meeting of the Contracting Parties to the Barcelona Convention (COP24)  in El Cairo, Egypt. This participation will be carried out through a side event that will take place on 3 December at 12:30h. More details on the location will be confirmed soon.

The COP24 of the Barcelona Convention will focuse on regional cooperation to protect the Mediterranean’s marine and coastal environments. This meeting  brings together 22 Mediterranean countries and the European Union to advance shared environmental goals under the Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment and the Coastal Region of the Mediterranean. Originally adopted in 1976 and amended in 1995, the Convention is the region’s principal legally binding framework for marine protection.

The side event will be the last intervention of MPA4Change representatives during the project implementation and it will be an opportunity to present the 100MPA MedAlliance initiative and some key policy recommendations raising from the two policy briefs and other advocacy actions that MPA4Change is producing.
